Wisconsin's economic vitality and its ability to remain competitive depend on the efficient transport of people and goods to the nation and the world. WisDOT provides a number of benefits to Wisconsin communities and businesses in the area of economic development. Some of these services act directly as a catalyst for economic development, while others contribute to the prosperity of the state.

WisDOT programs and activities

WisDOT provides a number of programs that support businesses, communities, and the state of Wisconsin. Many of the programs provide loans and grants that help the public with its transportation-related needs.

Motor carrier assistance

WisDOT's Motor Carrier Services section is active in technology development to create efficiencies in working with the trucking industry.

Maps and data

WisDOT produces maps that assist all types of travelers. Whether you are a business that needs to determine trucking routes, or a tourist looking for a bicycle map, WisDOT can help. The Department also produces different types of transportation data that help us plan and assist the public in a number of ways.
